Delicious, one star deduction ... The espresso was cold!

With great attention to detail ... Check in: When you arrive at the hotel you call a phone number where you get the pin code for the safe where the keys are deposited. - In the morning there is a nice young woman who is very open-minded and hardworking in the breakfast room and also fulfills extras such as scrambled eggs or fried eggs. Room: are super clean and the furniture is both new and contemporary. -The mattresses are not inserted or used up, so you can have a restful night. - The sheets and blankets are nice and fluffy and have no smell of their own. In the room there is also a desk where I held a webinar yesterday as well as an extra table and a stool + extra seat. Internet: Even though you are on the second floor you have a full reception to the router. The reception is absolutely brilliant. Bathroom: -My bathroom is spacious and with many extras such as 1.shampoo 2. Shower gel 3. Hair dryer 4. Giant mirror 5. Trash can 6. small cups 7. Make-up removal wipes 8. very good lighting 9. Enough towels 10. Extra mirror for shaving. Extras in the room: 1. Kettle 2.2 X 0.25L mineral water (classic) 3. 2 X water glasses 4. 2 x coffee / tea cups 5. 2 x tea bags (peppermint & fruit tea 6. Coffee pot 7. 4 X Tchibo repair coffee 8. 4 x sugar sticks 9. 2 X coffee cups with saucers. 10. Bottle opener. The usual city sights were also considered here. On the desk there are 2 X city guides and a local magazine. Multimedia: - A large wall-mounted TV provides good visibility from both the armchair and the bed. The TV is mounted in such a way that you can still easily access the USB plug-in options at the back. I could easily connect my Amazon Firestick to it and didn't have to do without anything. I hope I could give you some information about this hotel. Ps: in my opinion 3 ☆☆☆ are not enough for this hotel. Very good service and seasonal cuisine. The Dorner family and team are very flexible and always accommodating. Both the kitchen and the accommodation were always rated positively by our business customers. We therefore wish the Dorner family all the best and give them five stars ♡

Nice room, unfortunately very small, about 8-9 square meters, very warm directly under the roof.

Arrived late, kitchen was closing but they stayed open and cooked a superb steak!

Nice spacious room. Breakfast was good, with sausage, cheese, jam, honey, Nutella. Eggs were available on request. The host friendly and accommodating. Great for us, the dog was allowed.

A great family-run hotel in which you feel welcome from the first moment. You can tell that the owner couple is behind it with body and soul. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent cuisine. We will definitely come back. We can definitely recommend it!

If you walk in at 9:16 pm you get very angry looks from a waiter of southern origin. The food, however, is very good, but unfortunately you can't get regular customers with such a waitress. I prefer to go to the lasser or the kebab next door. That is task-oriented thinking of employees ...

Wow and wow. Such a nice food is hard to find. High class top star. Sides, starters main courses and soups all perfect. To be honest I think best asparagus I have ever had. Juice, soft and full of flavour. Home made stake little bit salty but made their own style. Just go and try and I can guarantee you will come back.

We have been visiting this restaurant for many years and it is one of our family favorites. We have tried many traditional dishes (Geschnetzeltes Züricher Art, Schnitzel, Calf Liver, etc.), seasonal dishes (Asparagus, Mushrooms, Wild Game, and many other special dishes. All have been excellent. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We find the prices to be very reasonable and strongly recommend Kranz to anyone looking for a great meal.

Been staying there for years, always awesome hotel

Refreshing culinary treat close to Basel! We ate at the Kranz last night and what an amazing meal! We started off with the Lobster cream soup, and Tuna Tartar for appetizers...excellent presentation and quite impressive on the taste buds. The wine list was extensiv and we chose a nice Rioja, an open house wine. Main courses we chose were equally delicious (duck breast, wild boar stew) , if you are in the Basel area looking for a really good food experience, then look no further. We are coming back! Small tip, reservations are needed as seating fills up quickly.
